Mark Reilly has announced that in between the work on the new Matt Bianco album due on JVC-Victor in 2008, he is back and forward to Seville, working on a solo project.
Here is he describes his inspiration for his new album:
I first came in contact with flamenco musicians while making the Matt Bianco album ” World go round ” , back in the mid 90s . We recorded with the flamenco/classical producer Jesus Bola , in his studio in Seville . I was taken by the whole experience , musically and culturally , most of all my friendship with Jesus and his family . Although the album was very successful in Japan , I thought we only touched the surface of what was on offer in a musical sense . I loved the open , acoustic sound of flamenco , the passion of its performers . I knew it was something I wanted to come back to. This is my first solo project as a performer , in collaboration with Jesus Bola. Many musicians in Seville and London have given their time on these songs , I thank you so much .
You can follow this exciting project on his Myspace site here.
